The Milwaukee Area Piano Teachers Association, referred to as MAPTA, was established for the primary purpose of uniting piano teachers in an association that will stimulate professional relationships and musical growth.  ​​Established in Milwaukee, it now accepts piano teachers from any state.

• We award over $1,500 in annual Young Artist Competition awards.​

​​

• We sponsors the Summer Music Festival for teachers and students in piano, voice, strings, accordion and harp. Non-member teachers are welcome to participate.

​

• We sponsor an Outstanding Solo, Duet, Trio and Pop & Jazz Competitions for students ages 5-18 who study with a MAPTA member. Parents may enter in duet & trios.

• We sponsor the annual Spring Festival of Solos and Duets in March which is followed by the Festival Recital. Students are awarded trophies.

• The Music Quiz Bowl is in January each year. Non-member music teachers may enter teams in this event

​​

• The MAPTA Senior Scholarship is awarded to students who have part​icipated in the Spring Festival for 7 or more years.
